Project Description
The City of Waterbury selected ECG to provide comprehensive ESPC Owner’s Representative services through a competitive RFP process. The Selection Committee included high-ranking representatives from both the City and the District whom were immediately impressed by ECG’s superior depth of knowledge and experience in the specific area of ESPC.

Once formally retained, ECG’s first task was to prepare a Preliminary Energy Assessment  for the City and School District’s buildings. This report allowed Waterbury to identify the least efficient buildings, resulting in valuable, detailed QESP proposals that were focused on solutions to our most pressing infrastructure needs. ECG also included numerous critical parameters in the QESP RFP that enabled the City to receive fair and thorough proposals. ECG worked with the Committee to develop a comprehensive set of ESCO interview questions, which enabled the Committee to compare each company’s response and, in doing so, select the QESP that offered the best overall fit for the City.

The City is now engaged in the Investment-Grade Comprehensive Energy Audit process with ECG and the winning ESCO. To commence this phase of the project, ECG developed a thorough agenda for our initial CEA “kickoff” meeting with the ESCO, which included numerous aspects of the scope and financial parameters that need to be discussed and agreed upon between all parties. The insight provided by ECG at this stage, and the many details and options they have raised as needing consideration and discussion before finalizing the CEA has led way to a successful start to the  development of the City’s ESPC to completion.

Due to ECG’s ESPC the City and School District are projected to receive over 625 kW in solar array and full interior/exterior comprehensive LED lighting.
