ECG, having performed Building Condition
Surveys for Lindenhurst, recommended that
the District upgrade its facilities by improving
energy efficiency and using the savings to
fund the projects. The District agreed and ECG
redesigned various mechanical and electrical
systems that saved over $300,000 per year in
energy costs that will be used to pay for the
improvements.The project was approved by
the NY State Education Department and the
District will receive state aid as a bonus.

In December 2010, due to the enormous success of the first EPC, Lindenhurst CSD initaited a second EPC. The second EPC will allow the District to capitalize on new energy efficient technology that has since emerged, and further reduce their energy consumption district-wide.
