Back in 2006, administrators at Connetquot CSD made the
decision to thoroughly evaluate their district’s potential
for an Energy Performance Contract (EPC). Although all involved
suspected an opportunity existed for a reasonably-sized EPC,
no one knew the magnitude of what the district would be able
to accomplish – from both financial and infrastructure
perspectives – through this process.
Today, the district is engaged in an EPC that will bring
over $11 million worth of facility upgrades and give the
district a substantial annual positive cash flow. All this
will be achieved with zero taxpayer
impact.
